Several students were injured when dilapidated roof of a school building caved in here on Thursday. According to the details, roof of a private school located in Mohallah Qasaban of Dera Ismail Khan suddenly came down when the students and teaching staff were busy in academic activities. As a result of roof collapse, dozens of children were buried under the rubble.

The locals, rescue teams and parents of the children reached the scene and started rescue operation. The injured children were shifted to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, talking to INP news agency, parents of injured children and members of civil society expressed their anguish over negligence of school administration and putting the lives of innocent children at stake. They demanded the authorities for taking strict action against administration of the school.
